What is Radiant Floor Heating?
In radiant floor heating, all the warmth comes from hot-water tubes or electric wires that are underneath the flooring. The heat waves rise and warm the objects in the room. You stay warm because these objects have their own heat and aren’t taking yours. The electric heating coils do a great job of warming up typical cold types of flooring like tile, marble, or slate floors. Electric radiant floor heating systems use electric cables built into the floor to heat it. This is a great idea if you currently have a strong furnace heating your home, but there are just a few rooms in particular that are extra cold occasionally. This eliminates cold spots in your home and keeps your home comfortable. Hydronic radiant floor systems are ideal if your house relies on a boiler for heat. Instead of electric cables, hydronic systems use heated water that flows through tubes under your floor. When the water has cooled down, it goes back to the boiler, heats up, and then circulates again. This is a very energy-efficient heating system.Book Appointment
